Overview

Principia Lightworks has developed and patented a laser technology, the eVCSEL: an electron-beam-pumped Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser, which serves as a platform light source for display and industrial applications. Unlike its competition, the eVCSEL can be fabricated at any desired wavelength from the UV through the visible.  The eVCSEL takes the form of a laser faceplate that is attached to a cathode ray tube (“CRT”). This combination allows for high power output, low power consumption, and significantly lower cost manufacturing than competitive laser technologies. Futhermore, scanning  eliminates laser speckle given that each pixel is not mutually coherent. These factors will allow for broad adoption of the eVCSEL as a light source for display applications generally, LaserTV specifically, as well as many industrial applications.
